20-year-old TAMUK student dies in car accident

The Kingsville Police Department (KPD) has confirmed that 20-year-old Jaqueline Olivares, a TAMUK sophomore majoring in communication, sciences and disorders, was killed at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 18 in a car accident on Seale Street.

a statement released by KPD.

Selvera, who the police apprehended at his residence on the 1300 block of W. Corral, reported that he gave off an odor of alcohol.

After being treated and released from Spohn Kleberg Memorial Hospital, he was arrested for the charge of “Accident Involving Death” which is a third degree felony.

Selvera posted bail on Saturday afternoon with a $15,000 bond.
