Driving While Intoxicated

Parking Lot J

While conducting a patrol in Parking Lot J, officer observed a vehicle driving recklessly through lot, fish tailing, and almost striking several vehicles. Driver said he was showing off to his friends. Officer smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Driver had slurred speech and glossy red eyes. The driver was transported to the Kleberg County Jail where an Intoxilyzer Screening registered the student with an alcoholic concentration of 0.100. Driver was booked and had driver’s license confiscated.
Burglary of Habitation

Martin Hall

Two residents of Martin Hall reported their room had been broken into. When officer asked how their room was broken into, they replied, “We left the door unlocked.” One resident’s laptop was stolen, while the other resident had his Xbox 360 and two controllers and 6 video games stolen. No further action has been taken.
Resolved Theft

Hill Hall
2/21 – 22/2013
Administrator contacted the University Police Department when a 30 foot copper gutter and straps were taken from the north east corner of Hill Hall between February 21 and February 22. The gutter was left overnight to be attached to Hill Hall, but when maintenance arrived, the items were no longer there. Later, UPD was contacted as the gutter system had been found and no offence had been committed.
