Corpus Christi businesswoman and author Marion Luna Brem will be the guest speaker as part of the College of Business Administration’s “Guest Lecture Series.”
The lecture will be held in room 221AB of the Memorial Student Union Building (MSUB) from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Brem is listed as one of the 100 “Most Influential Hispanics” in the U.S. by Hispanic Business magazine.
She had her life turned upside down when, at an early age, she was diagnosed with a terminal illness and told she only had 2 to 5 years to live.
While battling life threatening cervical and breast cancer with no health insurance, no employment and no resume, Brem found herself newly divorced and the head of her household.
She tried her hand at sales and is now the President and CEO of her own auto dealership, Love Chrysler.
Brem’s remarkable success has been documented both nationally and internationally.
Because of her success in the male-dominated automotive industry, she was recently inducted into “The International Automotive Hall of Fame.”
She has been given various honors such as one of the 10 women from the United States to be named as one of the “Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World,” the ceremony for which took place in Madrid, Spain.
According to Hispanic Business Magazine, she is one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States.”
Most recently, she founded a program to recognize civic-minded high school students. Her company has awarded several new cars to “Love Chrysler’s Top High School Students.” She also founded and co-funded the “Marion Luna Brem/ Pat McNeil Teen Parent Scholarship Fund,” which helps to provide financial aid to young parents attempting to balance parenthood while continuing their education.
She has written 2 books—The 7 Greatest Truths About Successful Women and most recently, Women Make the Best Salesmen.
Brem currently travels as an international speaker, and students and faculty at AMK will get to hear her presentation, “Balancing the Many Yous: Keep all of the plates in your life spinning in the air at the same time with these proven techniques.”
