Scott Gines will now permanently take on the responsibilities of athletic director while receiving the new title of Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation at Texas A&M-University Kingsville.
The promotion, which will be effective as of Jan. 2, also includes oversight of the Department of Campus Recreation and Fitness as well as the Student Recreation Center.
Gines is no stranger to this campus, as he had come
into TAMUK in 2007 to be athletic director, and later became vice president of institutional advancement in 2009.
Gines’ credentials include a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Military Institute, a master’s degree from the University of Virginia, and becoming a fellow of the Higher Education Management Institute, which is offered through Peabody College at Vanderbilt University.
