For the first time in five years, The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Theatre Department will bring the fall semester to a close with two student-run comedic productions – “Pillow Talk” and “Dentity Crisis” on Nov. 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. And Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.
Catherine ‘Katie’ Desiderio and Vanessa Jurado were chosen to direct the one-act up-and-coming comedies.
“This is the first time directing by myself. These particular comedies were student-picked, and I feel like the play I chose had so much to offer to the audience,” said the Director of “Pillow Talk”, Catherine ‘Katie’ Desiderio.
The play “Pillow Talk” is about two heterosexual men who are forced to share a bed together even though one of the men is hampered by the fear of physical intimacy. As the night progresses, the men get little sleep and a chock-full of surprises.
“It’s difficult to describe the very gist of the comedies because they’re so complex, said “Dentity Crisis” Stage Manager, Benito Latigo Jr. “But the comedy is definitely there.”
The play “Dentity Crisis” revolves around a young female protagonist who slowly starts to realize that she is actually crazy even though she believes she isn’t.
The price for admission is five dollars at the door – two plays for the price of one.
