Javelinas moving up in the rankings

by -

After picking up a win this past weekend’s slim 16-13 victory against at that time the 9th  ranked Abilene Christian Wildcats, the 24th ranked Texas A&M Kingsville Javelina football team improved to 2-0 on the season, and moved up ten spots in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll to the 14th spot.

This ranking is the highest rank for the Javelinas since being ranked 6th at the beginning of the 2011 season.

The Javelinas are the highest ranked Lone Star Conference team in the AFCA poll, with Abilene Christian dropping all the way down to the 20th spot after this past weekend’s loss to TAMUK, and the other LSC team to be ranked in the AFCA poll is the Midwestern State Mustangs who currently sit at the 16th spot.

The Javelinas will look to continue their move up the rankings this weekend as they play West Texas A&M at the second annual LSC Football Festival this Saturday Sept. 15 at 8p.m at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
