The Student Government Association (SGA) is holding their 2012 fall elections on Sept. 19 and 20, and there are several vacancies that need to be filled.
Brittany Ambriz, the senator pro-tempore of SGA encourages students to run for the open spots.
“We find it very important for students to become involved…not only to let your voice be heard but to stand for the hundreds of other students that are either within your college that you’re representing or within your class that you’re representing,” she said.
Though students must have at least a 2.5 GPA in order to be eligible to run, experience is not necessary.
“No prior experience is asked for,” Ambriz said. “You will have an opportunity to campaign and get your voice out there so people know who they’re voting for.”
Applications can be received from the SGA office in the Memorial Student Union Building.
