Top Three 2012 NFL Draft’s

The 2012 NFL draft is now in the books and there are many teams that made themselves better.

Although we won’t truly know the successfulness of this year’s draft till a few years down the road, there are some teams who have immediately made themselves better.

The Patriots once again have one of the best drafts in the league.  Throughout his tenure Bill Belichick has been solid on draft day and this year is no different.   The Patriots first round draft picks of DE Chandler Jones and ILB Dont’a Hightower instantly help improve a defense that was last in the NFL.  The Patriots spent six of their seven picks on defensive players, including one on cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, who may end up being one of the big steals of this draft.

Next there are the Cleveland Browns who drafted the best player in this draft in Runningback Trent Richardson.  Richardson had been listed by multiple experts as the one can’t miss prospect of this draft.  Also they locked up their Quarterback of the future in Brandon Weeden.  Richardson will completely take over games allowing for an easy transition for Weeden into the NFL.  The only area of concern that the Browns have on offense is that they are lacking a primetime receiver for Weeden to throw to.

Finally there are the Cowboys who may have found their missing piece for a Super Bowl run in LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne.  Claiborne gives the Cowboys their first shutdown corner since Primetime.  Claiborne gives them a fighting shot against the potent passing attacks of the Eagles and the Giants.  One of the biggest steals in the draft fell to them at pick 152 in wide receiver Danny Coale from Virginia Tech.  Coale is a Wes Welker clone who will take over games from the slot position, giving Tony Romo enough weapons to hold their own against the top offenses in the NFL.
