SGA Farewell Address

SGA Farewell Address

by -

The 86th session of SGA is officially over.  This year has been extremely successful and we have achieved an activity level that I do not believe has been achieved in recent years.  I would like to thank all the Senators, Executives, and Judges for their hard work to make the organization what it is.  I know that staff, faculty, administrators, and community members recognize and appreciate all the hard work of not just SGA but all the students who contribute to the campus and community.  It has been brought to my attention by numerous community members that they do not believe TAMUK students have been as active in the community as they are now.  Thank you all for your hard work and I hope you continue to contribute in significant ways to your community as you all finish up your college degree and after you graduate.

I would like to thank all my mentors and those who have helped me grow.  To all my professors thank you for challenging me and helping me grow.  Each and every one of you have contributed to my thinking and helped shape my beliefs, values, and ideas.  I would like to specifically say thank you to Dr. Olivia Lopez from the social work program and Mrs. Cyndi Walker-Ewert from the psychology department.  You two have been my greatest supporters and I will be eternally grateful for ALL that you have taught me.

In addition, I would like to thank my SGA advisor, Mrs. Kirsten Compary.  You have helped make this organization great and have helped me grow so much.  The list of ways you have helped me grow as a leader could go on and on.

Thanks you to all the staff, faculty, administrators, and students for making this university what it is.  I am proud to have received a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  Once a Javelina always a Javelina, we are Javelinas for Life!
