Javelina Volleyball off to a good start in Canyon, Tx tourney

Texas A&M University-Kingsville Women’s Volleyball team got off to a tremendous start in Canyon, Texas when they defeated Oklahoma Panhandle in a tournament match up winning 3-0(25-11, 26-24, 25-9) .

The Javelinas had great performances from many of their players, mainly in the terms of kills scored. Freshman Kelsey Washington finished with 11 kills on 16 total attack attempts. Sophomore Lauryn Lozano finished with 10 kills on 19 total attack attempts and 3 digs. Sophomore Bethany Friesenhahn rounded out the group with 5 kills and 4 digs. Defensively, the Javelinas finished with 7 total blocks showing off their defensive prowess against Oklahoma Panhandle.

The Javelinas will face off against Eastern New Mexico later this evening in the next match of the tournament. Stay tuned for posted results when they become available.
