AMK Baseball gears up for Eastern New Mexico

Lone Star Conference rival Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds (12-26, 2-17) travel in to Nolan Ryan Field for a four-game series against the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas (24-12, 12-8).

The series opener will feature a new “Fear the Beard” promotion.  The first 125 fans will receive a free beard to wear in support of the Javelinas’ starting pitcher in the series opener Jaden Dillon, who is currently sporting a record of 7-0, with a 1.56 ERA.

The Javelinas and Greyhounds will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. It will be Armed Forces Day, which means all military personnel and veterans will be admitted free to the doubleheader.  The series concludes on Sunday with a single game at 1 p.m.

The Javelinas are currently one game out of first place in the conference but are trailing West Texas A&M and Angelo State.  The Javelinas are hitting .276 as a team with a 3.39 earned run average.  Cameron Dullnig leads the way for the offense with a .354 batting average and currently has a 13-game hitting streak.  Dullnig is also been a force on the mound with a 1-1 record to go along with eight saves and a 0.00 ERA.  In addition to Dillon, Adam Aspaas is 6-2 with a 2.30 ERA.

The series will start tomorrow night Friday April 20th at 6 p.m.
