Spring break is just around the corner. That alone makes this a good week, but because of a Javelina spring football game, it only gets better.
The spring football game this Thursday at 7 p.m. will be having a one dollar admission fee that goes straight to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, according to the Javelina Athletics webpage.
“The Student Advisory Council is raising money for the Make-A-Wish because we’ll get quite a few people out there,” said Shane Meling, Sports Information Director for the TAMUK Athletic Department.
This will also be the third year that Project Ex is running. The program brings back a former Javelina football player to play again at Javelina stadium. This year’s player is former quarterback Oktay Basci. People have pledged money if Basci successfully throws his passes, according to the Javelina Athletics website.
“It’s raising more money for the football program, things like improving their lockers, getting new equipment,” Meling said.
It will be a blue and white game. Players will be separated into either the blue team, Team Nation, or the white team, Team Hog. Anyone wishing to see the rosters can visit www.javelinaathletics.com.
