First Hog Call of the Season Marks the Start of Javelina Football

Fans gathered around the Javelina Statues as the first Hog Call of the season took place Wednesday August 31, 2011.

Many students showed excitement for the start of the football season.

“I see the Javelinas going in a positive path this season,” said Matt Esquivel, student at AMK.

The Javelinas start the season with the first football game against Central Washington in Ellensburg, WA. Due to travel, the football team was not able to be present at Hog Call.

“I am really excited for the start of Javelina football,” said Sandy Vargas, student at AMK. “It will be exciting to see the stadium once again filled with energetic fans cheering on the Javelinas, shouting with pride, and sporting the blue and gold,” said Vargas.

Even though the first game is away, fans wish the Javelinas a very accomplishing 2011 football season. GO JAVELINAS!!
