The wins keep on coming in for the Texas A&M-Kingsville Lady Javelinas as they have now won three games in a row following a 86-65 victory over Lone Star Conference rival Cameron Aggies Thursday night at Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
For the Lady Javelinas, it was all about continuing what has been working for them over the later course in the season; continuing to scoring points, a solid field goal percentage and being able to spread the ball around the court.
“One of the best offensive games we’ve had all year,” said head coach Michael Trujillo, “We care about continuing what we’re doing,”.
The Javelinas were rolling early with four quick points run on the visiting Aggies, a lead not to be relinquished.
The Javelinas shot the three solid and shot well from the field to lead the Aggies 44-33.
The points continued to drop in the favor of the Javelinas going into the second half, as they continued the hot shooting
Through great passing and very quick trips to the lane, the Javelinas poured it on to the Aggies and didn’t stop.
The lead increase was also due to the defense of the Lady Javelinas, with 13 points off turnovers committed by the Aggies.
At the end of the night, the Javelinas rolled the Aggies ending the game with a momentous 86-65 win.
The Lady Javelinas had five players finishing the evening in double figures.
Leading the team was Amanda Haven, who finished with 16 points, two steals and two assists.
Also leading the charge for the Javelinas were Meagan Barlow, Jackie Stanley and Inekka Stevenson who finished with 14, 12, and 10 points respectively.
The Javelinas also combined for 21 assists and 42 points from the bench.
With the win, the Javelinas improve to (7-15, 6-10) and a three game winning streak going into Saturday’s game against Midwestern State
