The 2nd Annual G.A.T.O Con is just around the corner and with it comes an animated fantasy world.
The convention will begin on Feb. 17, and will last until the Feb. 19.
The convention is being hosted by the Gamers Elite and OTAKU Anime clubs.
“By joining our group interest of anime and games, we made G.A.T.O. Con,” said Cory Scarborough, director and president of Gamers Elite.
It will be held on the 2nd floor rooms of the Memorial Student Union Building.
The convention will have vendors, anime showings, artist galleries, game rooms, and workshops.
This year’s G.A.T.O. Con will have a large number of special guests, such as 50 1st Legion: Vader’s First, the imperial costuming organization, along with the AFTER MIDNIGHT cast performing the rocky horror picture show.
The convention will have professional cosplayers, writers, style dance troupes, artists, tournaments, and cosplay contests.
“We want to create and experience a variety of things people can’t experience anywhere else,” said Baron Kiespert, coordinator and president of Otaku Anime.
The doors will open at noon on Friday and 8 a.m. on the weekend.
The price range for a one-day pass for Friday and Saturday will be $15 dollars and on Sunday it will be $10. A three-day pass is $35, but if you’re part of the military, an AMK student, or a high school student with an ID, it will only cost $10 a day.
You can also pre-register at Gatocon.com for a lower price range of $10 a day or $30 for a three-day pass.
“Every year it will get bigger and better. Last year, there were about 300 people; this time I hope to double the amount. Bring your camera”.
