KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – A banquet honoring Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Mike Adams will be held on Jan. 20 on campus in the Memorial Student Union Ballroom. A social hour is set for 6 p.m. and the banquet is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Adams, who was a pitcher for the Javelinas in 1999-2001, is currently on the Texas Rangers’ pitching staff and helped the team reach the World Series last summer. He is one of the most effective relievers in Major League Baseball. Adams was with the San Diego Padres before being traded to the Rangers during the past season.
Adams will be signing autographs before for $20 an autograph. There will be a silent auction featuring items from the Javelinas and Rangers. A live auction will feature a signed Mike Adams Texas Rangers jersey.
Adams’ number with the Javelinas will be retired during the festivities. After the honoree speaks, there will be a question and answer session.
Tickets will be on sale online (click here <https://moneyconnect.tamuk.edu/C20209_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=60> ) and can be purchased at the Javelina athletic ticket office in McCulley Hall. There are a limited number of tickets available. The price per person will be $50 and tables of 10 will be $1,000.
Proceeds from the autograph session, auctions and banquet will benefit the Javelina baseball program.
