Visiting Texas A&M-International swept the season series from Texas A&M-Kingsville with an 86-77 win on Monday night at Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
The Dustdevils (8-6) were able to take control of the game with a 17-4 run over a five minute stretch in the second half.  They knocked down four three-pointers during the run, including two by Amanda Mangan.  Mangan would finish the game 5-for-5 from three-point range en route to a 17-point, six rebound effort for the visitors.
The Javelinas (1-10) had a strong first half as evidenced by a 38-38 halftime score.  The Javs fell behind by eight points in the early going, but were able get back into the game once they started to make some shots.  They were able to limit the Dustdevils to just 36.1 percent shooting in the first half.
The biggest difference between the two teams was three-point shooting.  The Dustdevils went 10-of-16 from three-point range as Mangan and Samantha Chacon, 3-for-3, did most of the damage.  The Hoggies were 2-for-15 from beyond the arc and were 0-of-8 in the first half.  The 24-point difference proved to be too much for the Hogs to overcome.
The Javelinas shot 38.0 percent from the field and made 15-of-19 from the foul line.  They had four players score in double figures with Inekka Stevenson (Freeport/Brazosport HS) leading the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Amanda Haven (Calallen/Calallen HS) added 11 points and three assists.  The team received some help off the bench from Breanna Gonzalez (San Antonio/Christian Academy) who had 10 points and three assists and Roslyn Robbins (Houston/LaMarque HS) who had 12 points, five boards and three steals.
The Dustdevils shot 40.0 percent from the field and were 24-of-32 at the foul line.  They also had four players score in double figures.  Mangan led the team with 17 points and Chacon added 16 points, five rebounds and four assists.   ReNikia Meshack had 12 points and eight rebounds while Alexis Thomas added 10 points while going 8-of-9 at the foul line.
The Javelinas are back in action on Wendesday night at Angelo State at 5:30.  The game can be heard on SportsRadio Corpus Christi 1230 AM.
