Freshman Jose Ventura finished seventh overall in the 8k run at the Lone Star Conference cross country championships in Commerce, Texas, leading the charge for a fifth place Javelina men’s team finish, right in the middle of a field on a nine-team field.
Ventura finished first among freshmen with a 25:54.3 time.
The San Antonio native finishes the season with three top three finishes in five meets.
Followed behind him were:
Francisco Solis in 26th with a 26:55.2 time.
Jasaiah Patterson (28th, 27:03.5)
Shane Stehle (38th, 27:27.9) Elias Madrid (41st, 27:31.1) Ricky Medrano (46th, 27:48.5), and
Damien Feeney (51st, 28:03.2).
Kaitlyn Tharp lead the women’s 6k team with a 23:40.4 time and a 17th place finish overall.
The women’s team finished eighth place out of nine teams.
Jade Guerrero followed shortly behind Tharp in 25th place with a 24:02.5 time.
The rest of the women are as follows:
Victoria Jamie took 41st with a time of 25:12.9.
Josie Guzman (45th, 25:24.4), Chelsea Gonzalez (50th, 25:49.6)

Jennifer Bernal (69th, 29:32.0).
