The Lady Javelina Basketball team losses another close game as they fell at the hands of the Zias of Eastern New Mexico to a final score of 79 to 71.
Both the teams came in to tonight’s match-up each only winning one game on the season so far with Eastern New Mexico coming in with a record of (1-4) and the Javelinas sporting a (1-3) record.
The Lady Javelinas and the Zias both came out strong as both teams were exchanging shots back and forth for most of the first half, but it wasn’t until late in the first half before the Javelinas were able to get anything kind of breathing room as they were able to jump out to a small five point lead and were able to hold on to that lead going into the half leading 41-36. The Lady Javelinas were able to shoot well from the floor in the first half has they shot 52 percent in the opening half and shooting 22 percent from beyond the arch and were able to get six steals to help get them the lead.
