Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s chapter of the National Organization for Women (TAMUK NOW) will be sponsoring a meeting organized by various student organizations, and Title Nine coordinator Jerry Trew, on Monday, Feb. 15, at 5:00 p.m. in Fore Hall, Room 102.
The meeting is set to discuss a solution for the lack of childcare in Kingsville for student/parents (students who are now parents in need of someone to look after their children while they attend class).
This problem has become increasingly relevant here at TAMUK, and it is with high hopes that Jenni Vinson, a lecturer in the Department of Language and Literature, approaches the meeting. Vinson stated, “…there’s students that are having children and there’s not enough childcare in the community. So we’re having students that are having to leave the university.”
The meeting is open to anyone who would like to come and listen to, or weigh in on, all sides of this pressing issue.
