The Texas A&M University Kingsville Campus Activity Board (CAB) is set to kick off their Welcome Week festivities on the first day of classes.

Wednesday August 24th at 7 p.m. CAB will host magician Norman Ng in the MSUB Ballroom A.

Thursday August 25th at 7 p.m. CAB will host their second event in the MSUB Ballroom A with comedian Cristela Alonzo. Alonzo has been featured on shows like Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and was also a semifinalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”.

CAB will end the welcome week events Friday August 26th at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. with a movie night featuring Fast and Furious 5.

The Campus Activity Board programs events on campus such as social events as well as lectures and other educational events.

“The importance of these events is for our incoming students to have a feel for the different events going on around school. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and see the different organizations,” said CAB Marketing Chair Cynthia Prado.

CAB has much more planned beyond Welcome Week.

“CAB definitely has a lot of activities planned throughout the semester. We start with gear swap where students bring a shirt from another university or college and they get a free new Texas A&M University-Kingsville shirt during the first week of September. We also have more movies to come, fall carnival, build a bear, and many more events,” said Prado.
